What do you think about adding a sub to the SC XXL?
I have the Triton One for front, sides and surrounds (Not put yet all of them in position but i own them already).
As far as I know the XXL uses the same drivers with Triton more or less but not the sub section.
I was wondering if it would be possible to add a Sub for the XXL, exactly under it, and somehow make it play between 40-120Hz.
Wouldn't that make it like a Triton One for the Center? Is it possible?

Triton One has the crossover at 120Hz and then sends to its subs.

The Sc XXL crossed at 120Hz and 40-120Hz to the center sub.

From 40 and below to the SVS PB16s from all speakers.

What do you think?

Hi, bonepeeler

Nice system you are going to set up!!!!

Re the SCXXL, using a sub for it, crossing it to that sub: I have a SC Ref, have also had the SCXXL, cross them both at 60-80 Hz to my Triton's. IMO, with the 2 extra speakers in the XXL and SC Ref designed for bass 500 Hz and down, I think crossing the XXL at 120 Hz to anything, under utilizes the XXL's bass prowess.

Re a second sub, always a good idea. Especially if you have a front/rear arrangement of the two subs. Is the SVS in the rear now? But I'm not sure I know how, if you are using one receiver, you can direct the XXL's crossed output to just the sub near the XXL. Bass management would send it to all subs including the SVS so some of the center channel content of the XXL crossed at 120 Hz would go to the SVS. Also, bass frequencies especially below 80 Hz, get pretty non directional, so for me, keeping frequencies above 80 HZ in the XXL would be a good idea to localize those center channel speaker signals there. The XXl can handle that!

Just my thoughts. Experiment to your heart's content! We all do I suspect.
