Your ear is a pretty good starting point, just run the tones and make sure the levels sound the same from the five main speakers at your listening position. The HTR 7000's need to be "aimed" in setup also (they need to point at the center listening position). Also you may want to experiment with the HF gain switch, just make sure it is set to the same position on all speakers. Any basic SPL meter will work fine for setting the main speakers, even the free apps for a smartphone will work OK as long as you stick to a single dB level. Sub level will need to be set by ear/taste anyway. (BTW, set LPE to 120Hz for the sub, not 80).

Just a note to clarify, the volume settings on the receiver are meaningless and have no relation to actual volumes in the room. How far you have to turn the knob is not relevant. Also, as I said before, the dealer's job is not done until they have properly installed and setup the system for you.

ok...Dealer is the one that set the LPE level to 80Hz...I'll change it back to 120Hz...

Not a big deal, sub still gets only below 80Hz from the five channels, but it gets up to 120Hz from the LFE channel - so that way you're not cutting off any movie LFE information.
