Hi all,

I know Goldenear makes it own subs but I am thinking about adding a REL S/510 to my One.R's. Stereo only use in an oddly shaped multi purpose room.

Has anyone out there added a sub to these speakers and if yes how did it go? My dealer has sold this sub for use with other tower speakers, some with powered sections and reckons it would be a great progression.......

Cheers
SC

System: Goldenear Triton One.R. Plinius RA 150. Auralic Vega G2.

Hi FMaximus68, Adding a separate subwoofer to the Triton One.Rs (for stereo use only) would work very well. It will provide an even bass response throughout your listening room, and it will produce more impact and punch to the low end. It could even produce a bear hug of bass around the listeners. Adding a quality subwoofer to this system (like the REL Acoustics S/510- or the GoldenEar SuperSub XXL) would be a great idea. Happy Listening!

Thanks. I have 2 dealers down here in NZ that have both the Tritons and RELs in stock. I’ll arrange a demo and go from there

I added a super-sub X to my triton one.r’s for 2.1 channel stereo listening. The SSX is set at… 35-40% volume and that balances quite well with the T1Rs in my space. I had previously run a slightly smaller velodyne sub, and was surprised at how much better the Goldenear SSX integrated (likely due to the dual-driver, dual-radiator configuration)
Triton Two front L/R
SuperSat 50c center
Triton Seven surround L/R
SuperSat 50 surround rear L/R
AVR Arcam AVR-21
Amp Marantz mm7025
Velodyne optimum 10” sealed, back left corner
SuperSub X front-right corner

Good to know thanks. I’ve historically been of the view that subs were just for movies. Thats not really the case now so i’m looking to take the sound to the next level without replacing the One.R’s which are pretty awesome. I’m starting my auditioning this Saturday
