Greetings Music Lovers,

Your thoughts on requesting a sub for my Aon 3s.

My system is in a smallish room 12 x 16:

McIntosh 7270
McIntosh C504
Lynn LP12 with a budget cartridge
Integra DBS 30.3 for CD

I am considering the SuperSub X but am concerned about the absence of a high pass crossover
thus laboring the Aons with unnecessary low frequencies.
Noting the Force Field models have this feature, my question is weather they would be a better choice?

Best,
Undecided

Greetings. A SuperSub X plus Aon 3 with a 60-80Hz crossover is a spectacular combination. But you need the high pass/low pass. We would suggest an external line level crossover between your preamp and amp. The ForceField subs' speaker level high pass/low pass would not be ideal for this setup.

Can you recommend an external line level crossover as you've described?
