Just a note:

The new Marantz SR 8012 receiver has the latest premium iteration of Audyssey, Multi EQ Editor, which adds the ability to choose EQ frequency adjustment range, so it can adjust just 500 HZ and below etc., like ARC (and all Dirac versions?) can.

Can it deal better with built in subs? I don't know.

Come on over Rick, I am trying to get it to stop raining and get dried out over here!!!!
My DIRAC is not perfect, but I am happy with what I have dialed in so far.
Get your Golden Ears over here and tell me what you hear, your more discerning than I am.
God Bless,
Wayne

Hey, Wayne

Yes, I am looking at options and time frames to get over there. :)

But I seriously doubt I am more discerning than you are. I've learned a lot reading your posts on most everything from Hi Res music to TOOB amps to best sound tracks on Blu-rays..... And I'll bet that with your great gear and speakers your system sounds amazing!

Happy listening!

Rick

Thanks Rick, you are too kind!!!
But I talk a good game, not so sure I hear that well any more though.
Looking forward to Hearing, pun intended, what you hear from my system. Anyway, we can have some fun, listen to some music, watch a movie or two and eat some spicy food!!!
God Bless,
Wayne

I have marantz 8805 , TREF’s , 4 T2+ , SCxxl and 4 7000’s , 2 pb16 ultra subs for 7.2.4 , my room is treated also with gik acoustic panales and base traps

I consulted the guys here , for multiple things they are very special group in this forums really helpfull ,thank you wayne

Watched first movie on my system without audyssey and i swear my eyes teared (im 36 y)and my this is my 4th system so i think i have an idea about what good sound is like ,

Then did multiple audyssey calibrations and the sound is very nice and controlled base but with movie no 7-8 i m starting to get used to it , orrrr maybe audyssey is doing something to the sound , put in mind that audyssey is designed for all speakers including bad and well designed speakers ,

People visit my ht room they say that this is the best they ever listened too and that im wrong about audyssey...

What i did is for test purposes i reset my processor to factory and started from zero ,
Copied my distances and manually adjusted levels noooo audyssey , man
The great sound is back again the tritons are breathing , the pb16 ultra sound like they got out of a cage ,

So what i think is the following :
In well treated carpeted even shaped rooms my speakers sounded more natural and the base alot deeper without audyssey ...

Hope this help
