Hi!
I'm in the process of building a media room in an old underground garage. Main focus will be in music but there will eventually be a full home theater system. The room is a difficult size and shape. About 8,4 m (~27' 7") long, only 3 m (~10') wide and only 2 m (~6' 7") high. All the surfaces are concrete at the moment. The LCR speakers will be behind an acoustically transparent screen. Surrounds will be installed on-wall.
As this is quite a large project the budget for each individual component is limited. Ever since I heard the GET Triton Three+ last year I have wanted those speakers. The first dynamic speaker that could match the high frequency output and stereo information of my Magnepans and at the same time have the sturdy bottom end. So now I'm building a room to get the speakers somewhere.
So the obvious choice would be T3+ as mains and SuperSat 3s as surrounds. But what would be the best choice for center channel? T3+ would be the HT enthusiast's choice. SuperSat 3C the cheap choice. I basically don't like the idea of center speakers that have a MTM-configuration. Don't want the comb filter effect. And as the center speaker will be behind the screen there's not going to be a shelf to put it on. So how about e.g. a Triton 7 as a center between the T3+'s? T7 not quite as tall as T3+ but neither would a center channel match the tweeter height.
Another point of interest is Atmos. Problem with that is the room height and the concrete ceiling. So the only possibility with GET speakers would be having SuperSat 3s on-ceiling. Does anyone have any experience on roof-mounting 3s? Is it possible to get them fixed properly? How should they be oriented? Is the SuperSat 3 or 3C the better choice?
A "low cost" 5.1.2 HT with all GET speakers and NAD T758 v3 AV receiver should be a nice place of refuge. Then there's always room for 7.1.4 (or 9.1.6 in future).

Hi AKolli,
Welcome here.
You may want to read other threads about how others here have built their home theaters or media rooms.
That is a VERY low room, and that lack of height plus the concrete walls will make sound reflections a tough one.
Just my opinion, but being so low a ceiling I would not even try ATMOS, myself.
So I would save money there and go with a good 5.1 system with a good subwoofer and perhaps 3 Triton 3+s in the front.
I too was a Maggie man, and then Apogees and agree with your choice of the GEt towers, but I would recommend the 2+s if you can afford them. Then you MIGHT not need a subwoofer. Unless you are a bass head like me, then you will have to have one.
Again, just my opinion, but going up from 5 to 7 to 9 speakers is not nearly as much bang for the buck, IMHO, as getting a great pair of front LR towers and LCR towers even better. 5.1 can be awesome.
Hope this helps, have fun with it,
God Bless,
Wayne

Hi, Akolli
As Wayne said, that room will present acoustic challenges, especially reflections. So some attention to acoustic attenuation would pay dividends also, like judicious use of acoustic panels.
Since music will be part of your initial main focus, I second Wayne's recommendation to maximize the piece of your total investment that goes into the front mains, and think about T2+s. That would support HT use perfectly also. For center, yes a T7 should work well behind an acoustically transparent screen.
Supersat's should work fine as surrounds as long as you have bass oomph somewhere, and T2+’s will do more for that than T3+'s, unless you also go for a rear sub.
As to Atmos, it does add to the audio envelope experience, but I really can't speak to the degree of difficulty you would have, first mounting Supersats into a 6'7" cement ceiling (hence dropping the sound source to maybe 6'2"?). or to the sound dispersion. Maybe someone else will comment on that.
BUT, you are envisioning a great sound refuge!!!! Go for it!!!!

Thank you for the welcome and the feedback.
Acoustic treatment will be a major part of this project. Reflections, room modes and all that will be carefully taken into account. Hence the reference to a big project. I have been to enough bad home theaters and music rooms to start with the basics. Build a good room with correct decay times and bass absorption and even lesser speakers will shine.
As I've been reading the forum here it seems most people here agree on Triton 2+ being that much better than Triton 3+ that the 2+ should be the one to go for even though it's almost 50% more expensive. In my initial thoughts I have always planned for external subs in addition to the 3+s "just in case the bass isn't enough". Those would add up the cost to equal the 2+s. Still I would want to hear the 2+ before deciding on that one. The 3+ is the only GET speaker I have ever heard. Going to have to contact the distributor here and ask if they have 2+s on display now.
5.1.2 with three Triton 3+s and four SuperSat 3s costs roughly the same as 5.1 with Triton 2+ mains, Triton 7 center and SuperSat 3 surrounds. A no-brainer to one is a hard choice for another. Have to think about it.

Hi, Akolli
No wrong choices there at all. ALL GEt speakers work well together.
If you go with T3+’s, another option to boost the bass is T3+ fronts, T7 center, the SuperSats and a SuperSub X in back to distribute the bass evenly.
Lots of options, all will work, and sound amazing!
Good luck and have fun!
