My apologies for my delayed response, I couldn't pull myself away from the great room stereo.
The pairing of GE Tritons with the Emotiva XPA DR series amplifier is excellent. The additional power and clarity absolutely make the Tritons shine. I've paired those pieces with the new Cambridge Audio MagicDAC 200M to run balanced end to end and it's magnificent. I was hesitant as well but the speakers embrace the power with ease, they really step up and stay poised and accurate. I have zero regrets.

If you decide to go this route .....Enjoy!

.....Back to the music!

I actually ended up getting a couple of ATI amps, a 543NC for LCR (Triton 1Rs and Supercenter ref) and a 528NC for L/R surrounds (SS50s), L/R rears (Triton 5s) and 4 ceiling atmos (HTR7000s). In the process of renovating the room to run speaker wire in wall and install the HTRs. Also have to 2 Rythmik F18 subs to run with this set up, hope to be done soon so I can melt my brain!

Hello,

How do you like the ATI 543NC for the front stage? I am looking to purchase that exact same setup. (I am currently running an XMC-1 processor, T7s with 2 Supersat 30s and 2 ForceField 3s with an Emotiva XPA-5 Gen3 amp.) I was reading that the ATI N-Core amps are "bright"? True? (The XPA was tested by Stereophile and exhibited issues with frequencies above 10K. Otherwise i't get the DR3. But those harmonic issues over 10K is what is driving my decision to the ATI but unsure if I want class D or A/B from their 4000 line.) Anyway, future theater is a 5.4.2 with Triton 1.Rs, Supercenter Ref, and my Triton 7s with the FF3s in rear with the Supersat 30s on the ceiling for Atmos. Probably a HTP1 or AVM 70 for the processor. But I do love the XMC-1 so maybe a demo of the XMC-2 is in order.... Hmmm... (Side note, isn't it amazing how many times things move into/out of shopping carts in this hobby?!?! :)

Just got the Monolith 11 (made by ATI) to power my whole room.

Triton 1s and an XXL up front, with two Rythmik FV18s, and all MPX around and overhead to round out the 7.4.4.

Still running it all from my old Marantz 7010 for the processing, but not powering anything.

Sounds like we got to a very similar spot, system-wise.

How big of a difference did you get with the prepro over a receiver, when and if you made that jump. I think that’s next for me.

I’ve finally gotten around to setting up and calibrating my system yesterday, been tied up with renovations and then recently had a real bad problem going on with my HTP-1. Was trying to get that thing working for almost a week and finally got it working over the weekend so can’t really say just yet how everything sounds

Watched a couple of movies so far (The Suicide Squad and Interstellar) and I’m blown away by how good this sounds. Since I’m running all of my equipment brand new, nothing is broken in yet and won’t be for quite some time but I didn’t feel this set up was too bright imo. Crystal clear highs, clarity was superb and mid range is very good. The 1.Rs do produce a decent amount of bass on their own but will never give you that chest caving bass that some like me are looking for. Running the 1.Rs as large full range speakers and letting my dual F18s handle all the LFE, it sounds amazing!

If you’re on the fence about the ATI amps, I’m coming from a Emotiva XPA-5 gen 2 (which is one of the best amps you can buy for it’s price class) and I don’t miss it so far
