I do have them fairly apart (2 ft away from each side wall) and toed in slightly. I read the support forums for placement etc. I could not move around my furniture tonight as we had a child sleeping early. Will do that tomorrow and see if furniture / placement makes much difference.

Thx.

Shan,
I am sure you will get it figured out, you are taking the right approach. And getting advice is a good idea too.
I went online and checked about your receiver, you have plenty of power there, and Marantz is a great company, it should be fine.
You do have a BIG room there, especially with a high ceiling. (Was the dealer's audition room much smaller than yours?) It might be that the 2s are better suited to your needs. IF that is the case, I hope your dealer will work with you.
It is hard to get apples and apples auditions in Audio. I NEVER got a good audition of the Triton 2s. One room was larger than yours, (it still sounded good though, but not much in the way of imaging) and the next room FULL, chock a block with speakers all around (did not sound the best). Then I auditioned the Triton 3s in 2 VERY small rooms (PLENTY of sound there!!!). I never heard the 3s in a big room like yours.
Wish I could help, but I am sure you will work it out.
Please tell us how it works out, what you came up? We can all learn from each other.
I also liked what you said about this forum being civil, I agree and really like that.
All the best guy, and please share what you find out.
Enjoy
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.
