Gradually getting back to TX time from some jet lag...

Yes, Anthem, I ate mostly Thai food. Jeen is a fantastic cook, and we ate Thai style at local eateries, often with a gorgeous view of mountains, valleys, even the Mekong River. Loved it. Some spice in the food, but levels were perfect for me. I'd compare the "spice index" to Tex Mex food here in TX. Didn't tempt fate with REALLY hot stuff.

More on Wayne's Home Theater. It's in a room built for that purpose, can be completely darkened, theater style, even has movie posters framing the entrance to the room! Wayne is modest when he talks about his hearing. Having struggled with the ongoing "getting the right sound" experience myself in my set-up over time with gear selection choices, interconnect changes, speaker cable options, playing with speaker location, etc, and power cord playing around, I know it's no accident Wayne's sound quality is so amazing. A perfect blend of detail and musicality! Whether it was changing speaker cables back from silver to copper when he installed the T1's, or all the gear/cable/interconnect etc. choices over time, or speaker placement, gain setting adjustments, that system is DIALED IN! Completely seamless and enveloping sound field, sweet, musical sound. Goosebump stuff for sure. Wayne's hearing works just fine, IMHO! And three walls and racks full of tempting movie and music choices. I could have browsed and sampled endlessly! Great job, Wayne!!!!

Awww Shucks!!!!!
Thank you so very much Rick for the very kind words!!!!!
I can't wait until I can come over and hear music on your system, which I am SURE is even better than mine!!!!
You do have more golden ears than I do, better hearing. And bigger/better speakers up front. But it is wonderful confirmation for me, for the hours and hours of listening, researching, buying, trading, tweaking, listening some more, setting up my system the best I can.
LOTS of work and now I feel it was all worth it!!!!!
Guys, Rick is kind and HUMBLE. That humility served him well when it came to eats.
IF Rick had been like some people I have met, bragging about how hot and spicy he can eat, THEN we could have brought him to his sweating, burning (today and tomorrow) knees. But he is not that way so we tried to keep the spice level mild and hope he enjoyed it.
I needed him sitting in the home theater listening with me, not on the toilet the whole time!!!! Ha ha
We had a BLAST, I know I did!!!!
Thanks Rick,
God Bless,
Wayne

One other comment....

I had said before, on the Power Cord thread, that Wayne is the "real deal" before even travelling there. Well, after spending time with Wayne and family, I can say that Wayne, his wife Jeen and daughter Gypsy are the real deal family also.

I thank them all for what was for me a trip of a lifetime. Just wanted to let GEt forum folks know the same.

Wayne, you're a treasure, and I want you to know that I really appreciate all your contributions, and caring, on this forum also.

Your listening buddy and grateful guest,

Rick

AWWWW Rick, you shouldn't have!!! No really, you shouldn't have, now everybody will want to come over!!!!!
Ha ha, we had the most wonderful time, challenging time sometimes, fun and Rick is an amazing Gentleman, so
he was a REAL TREAT to have as company!!!!!
I felt that most of the time our taste in music ran pretty closely, and we could always appreciate the same great sounds.

Let me give an example here. Someone posted an album where Lucinda Williams collaborated with some more jazzy guys, and posted the first cut from the album on here. It is a WINNER and I immediately ordered it.
I had Amazon ship it to Rick to hand carry over here with him, I could get it easier, faster, cheaper that way.
Vanished Gardens by Charles Lloyd and the Marvels, feat. LW.
I told Rick just open it and rip it when it comes to you if you want. He said he would listen to it on Deezer or Wheezer, or something.
I asked him later how was it and he changed the subject. (Slickly I might add, he would make a great politician!!!!).
When he brought it to me over here, I asked again, how did it sound? Changed subject again.
I finally got around to ripping it the other day, played just that first killer good cut, just to make sure I had a good copy and then put it away. Listened to the album in the car today, or TRIED TO.
Holy Moly, the sax player gets totally carried away and takes over songs, even Linda's songs, ruins nearly the whole dang album!!!!!
Now I know, Rick was just being kind not saying anything.
That's the kind of guy he is, KIND. Thanks Rick, look forward to many more of your listening observations, pls keep sharing.
You have the Golden ears and you are a sensible guy too!!!! Great company too!!!!
God Bless,
Wayne
