Hi,

As far as subwoofers side clearance, a couple inches is all you need for the subs' radiators. (The rest of the speaker is hopefully at least 12-18" from the walls.)

The corner location for the left surround is fine. I'd suggest mounting it with a SuperSwivel to pull it out of the corner a bit and allow some angling inward. Might want to do that for both so the look "matches".

Thanks for the info on spacing on that right channel. The 5"+ dimension mentioned in the previous message was with the Def Tech and now that I have the GE L,C, R installed I am liking the distance. At the closest distance I have 6" and at the widest distance it's over 9". The GEs are toed in more than the Def Tech speakers. See photo below.

I have about 12" between the back of the speaker and the wall and I can move it out some more. I just shut down my system and have 8 hours on the front 3 GE speakers. I'll do some tweaking and move them out from the wall to see how they sound. Right now the imaging is really good at 9 ft between Triton One and 11 ft 6" from the center channel to the sweet spot seat.

Finally, did not think about the SuperSwivel to pull them out of the corner a bit and angle them inward. As you can tell from my picture, the seats are only 4" from the back wall that the speakers are mounted on plus the thickness of the rear cushions.

Also attached a picture of the front wall with the new GE speakers.

Rick, only have the two Triton One and SuperCenter XXL hooked up and now have 8 hours of burn in on them. My early impressions the imaging is great, the horizontal stage if fantastic and the clarity and definition are so much better than my Def Tech speakers. Can't wait to see how they age over the next 60 to 70 hours. This is based upon 3 different CD's and no movies.

Wednesday the wife is going to a meeting and I am setting the bass management settings and running my room correction and then will pop in several of my favorite Blu-rays to see how they sound. Of course, with her gone, the volume level is coming up. There is a slight timer miss match with the Def Tec rears, but right now I want to see how the front speakers sound on some of the action movies.

Once I look at the Moderators suggestion for mounting the SSat 50s, then I will mount the surround speakers.

Thanks, my first big test comes Wednesday when the wife is gone. By then I should have another 15 hours on the front 3 speakers.. There are several Blu-ray movies waiting to be played.

I was very conservative today in keeping the volume at a reasonable level and plan to check some more CDs on Tuesday and then the movies on Wednesday. The clarity and definition are really good and I am impressed with the sound stage, nice and wide.

Diana Krall and her small band sounded really good this morning, the bow work and guitar and piano were excellent. Eagles Hotel California was excellent at conservative volume levels. More Eagles, Diana Krall, Whitney Houston, and others to follow. Got to go digging for some of my big band stuff next.

Del, you and yours will LOVE your home theater, it will sound amazing!!!!
I have put together home theaters with lesser speakers and far worse positions available to me for them.
It can all be pulled together with rather careful measurement and volume settings so no one will even notice what/where and will only ENJOY when the movie gets started!!!!

Just ran the bass calibration (Audyssey XT 32). Then ran sections of 3 blu-ray movies. Oh my...fantastic. Strong bass, terrific dynamics, and smooth sound from top to bottom. Very very nice.
