After some suggestions from T Cobe and others, I opted for the 12 gauge wires and finally finished my setup and should be all done my basement within the next few days, thanks!

First impressions: these Tritons are sick! The sound is really tight and bass is very good, not boomy at all...I have mine set at the 12 o'clock position for now and I think it's pretty good...haven't had the time to test movies and CDs yet. They are set to "Full Band" (Large) and "No" because I have no sub, yet...

My Onkyo 757 is very good and I am still tweaking it...But I find that to really hear radio music or Bluetooth streamed music, I have the volume set at 50-70 range to really hear the music. Is this good? Am I pushing the A/V Receiver too much like this? Pardon my ignorance, but I am a little new to this.

Crossover for the center (SS3C) and backs (SS3) are set at 120...

The setup also asks me to set it for the mains...What level should it be at? The mains are about 9 feet from my listening position..I am lost on this one.

Also, they ask me for the cross over for LFE...it's preset at 80...I don't have a sub, using the mains for that, but what level should I set it as?

Other than that, tones are set flat which makes the sound natural to my ears and I prefer it this way...

I love this system and I am forever grateful for purchasing them and I am taking care of them as good as my 2 year old son who seems to really love rock music from them (always in 2 channel stereo).

Congrats on getting your system up and running!

Re some of your questions:

A Volume setting of 50-70 shouldn't tax your Onkyo at all. GEt's are efficient speakers and pretty easy to drive.

120 HZ crossovers for the center and back SS's is right in the ballpark.

With your fronts/mains (Tritons) set as Full Band, I'm not clear why the Onkyo is asking for a crossover setting for them, especially with no sub to cross to.... they should be getting full range sound, plus the crossover under 120 HZ from the center and backs when playing surround. Maybe check the speaker set-up and make sure they are set as Large, with sub off.

Same for LFE, with no sub on, all LFE should be going to the Large mains. Again, maybe confirm the mains are set as full band/large, sub off. Typical LFE settings for systems WITH subs on are in the 120 HZ range. 80 HZ would work also, but with full range sound and all LFE directed to the Large mains, the Triton's crossovers should be doing all the processing.

Maybe Onkyo menu's handle speaker set-up differently? It seems you are getting good full range bass now. Does a crossover value appear for the mains? If the crossover for the mains is blank, I'd leave it that way. You don't want/need a crossover setting for them. Comments welcome from folks more familiar with Onkyo speaker set-up menu's.

Congrats on the new gear! Sounds like you're well on your way to getting things tuned in. Rick has most of the bases covered with his comments but I would add a few comments.

I'd strongly recommend hooking up the T3s to the LFE outputs of your Onkyo. I have owned multiple Integra AVRs (installer version of Onkyo) and the LFE is rolled off if you just use the speaker level outputs for LFE. You will achieve much better movie performance with the LFE connected.

I also did not prefer the sound of my gear after running Audessey. The algorithms they use didn't seem to work well with my setup. The frequency settings were all over the board. I would recommend taking the measurements for distance and level matching manually. From there, it is a matter of trial and error regarding crossover settings. Room acoustics and individual preferences vary and no one solution is the best for everyone.

The last thing you will have to experiment with is spacing. Your SSats should be straight forward but the T3s will require a bit of trial and error. Playing music with very tuneful/musical bass while adjusting positioning will give you audible cues as to when you are far enough away from your walls. Too close and the bass will sound a bit muddy and less precise. I have found the midrange in my room also likes a fair amount of spacing. I finally settled on 40" from my front and side walls. If you don't have that much flexibility, even 24" from the wall may offer significant improvements. Again, it's a matter of trial and error while working within the limitations of your room.

No crossover for the mains, I checked the menus like 10 times, it was my error in the original message, sorry!

Do you know anyone that has the new Onkyo TX-NR757? There is no line out, so my external amp is pretty useless...I wanted to use it for the fronts, I guess I will have to bring it back to my dealer...

Any feedback on the A/V Receiver I have would be appreciated, if possible.

Yes, I am looking into it as well. The Onkyo has 2 Sub outs on the back which is perfect...I can run seperate LFE cables from the mains to the A/V Receiver...What crossover should the LFE level be at? 80-120?

With placement, like you said, it's trial and error...The left main is about 24 inches from the side walls and about 12 inches from the back walls, the gain dial at the 11 o'clock position. The right is about 20 inches from side walls and 10 inches from the back wall and the dial at about 9-10 o'clock...Still tweaking it LOL

Regarding the Onkyo TX-NR757, I don't have experience with it, but if you just bought it and the dealer will allow you to upgrade, I am always in favor of purchasing an AVR that has pre-outs (and sometimes, main-in) terminals that allow for AVRs to be used as power amplifiers or for external amplifiers to be connected. I'd say pre-outs is by far what you'd want for an external amp.
