Seeing that the Triton's utilize a D'Appolito array, I thought this recent (November 2016) article by the man himself makes for worthwhile reading. I can't say I understand all of this, nevertheless, I found it interesting. ;)

GDHAL,

Great article! Thanks for posting this one. It is definitely a slow read and there are certainly parts that are way over my head, but it makes you appreciate the science and art of building a great sounding speaker. Clearly the audio wizards at GET know their stuff and have all of these aspects down to a science/art.

I'm going to have to process this one a few times. I have Floyd Toole's Sound Reproduction on my Amazon wishlist. I've heard it's the go to book for room acoustics and it appears to cover loudspeakers as well. My guess is it will read a lot like this article.

Moderator Dude, any recommendations for us enthusiasts that want to understand this better but are not engineers? Something with more elementary explanations. More of a 101 level course versus graduate level.

Cheers,

T Cobe

T Cobe,

I own and have read Toole's book, and it is a fantastic source of useful information on room acoustics. It is like a collection of review papers (sounds boring, but it's not), and most of what he says is backed up by experimental results. The book made me look at my room in a different way, and it has been most helpful in optimizing what I have.

Highly recommended!
