Can anyone provide some commentary of the side by side of the two products? For me, it is easy to justify the incremental expense to go from the three’s to the two+. Now, I am wondering if it’s worth another $1500 to move to the Ones. If you are wondering, I absolutely love the Ones. Any perspectives would be helpful. BTW, this will be the main feature in a 7.1 surround sound setup with the SuperCenter XXL in the middle. I will slowly be upgrading the rear speakers. Thanks again for your thoughts/feedback!
Chazman, I listened to the 2+ when I started thinking of upgrading my speakers. My local dealer had both of these in stock, he moved the TOnes into place near the 2+ for a good A-B comparison. For my hears, and that is what is important, what your hears tell you, the TONes hands down beat the Two+. Then we switched to a movie and decision was made. The larger surface area mentioned by the Moderator really shines. The controlled bass, solid bass, and SQ were outstanding. The only way to say it was that the T2+ sounds great, natural, etc. The TOnes had a better bass with "more smash".
So I am biased, I love bass when its clean and fits with the rest of the speakers.
Several people said it, you will not be unhappy with the TOnes. They are great speakers and once you get over 100 hours on them they are even better. My local dealer won't sell the TOnes because they are broken in and sound so terrific. This would be a disservice to the next buyer hearing the TONes that are not broken in. He told me it takes time to do the break-in and he seldom sells his floor demo units unless there is a model upgrade.
Anyway, I got side tracked. Let your ears make the decision.
