Alright, the dealer I'm going through is the only one accessible in my state. He seems very sold on Onkyo products, I guess they have a ton of features for the cost, which makes me a touch wary as I'm more about quality than quantity.

From the looks of things ATMOS is very expensive to add to the systems. However, my buddy has a Marantz that he really loves, and there seems to be some really great deals on the SR7007 series. Only 899.00 bucks on Crutchfield.

What do you guys think of that reciever... and what's your honest opinion on Onkyo?

oh, and one more thing... power conditioners... worth it or voodoo?
Current System:

Projector - Sony VPL-HW55ES
AVR - Onkyo TX-NR838
Fronts - Triton 2s
Center - SuperCenterXL
Surrounds - SuperSat 3s

Ask me about espresso, I'm an expert at that... I'm just learning about audio!

So Onkyo builds the Integra receivers and the Integra receivers are said to be built with sturdier or better components. I could not confirm or deny the physical difference between the two but Integra will have a longer warranty (3 yr vs Onkyo 2 yr). Onkyo and Integra tend to be the first adopters on a much of the new technology such as Atmos.

I recommend Onkyo to all of my family members (total of 3 onkyos now plus my 2 integras)

Marantz also builds a good receiver which a good friend of mine runs and couldn't be happier. I don't think you could go too wrong with either as long as it is a certain level. I would try to stay away from the entry level ones.

It is a good time to look for last year models right now, but with that you'll give up some of the newest features. For example I picked up a new Integra 40.5 for 40% off of MSRP vs the new 40.6 model. The 40.5 doesn't support Atmos of some or the newest HDMI stuff which for my application is fine.

I think the value of the panamax conditioner is more the safety rather than the actual quality difference unless your talking really high end stuff.

Well guys, I pulled the trigger:

After hearing the Marantz and the Onkyo and talking with the dealer I decided for my first receiver I would start with an Onkyo. I can always upgrade later down the road once I have a better understanding of exactly what I want in a receiver, but for now this will suit me fine.

System ordered:

2x Triton 2
1x SuperCenterXL
2x SuperSat 3

1x Onkyo TX-NR 838

Thanks everyone for suggestions and expertise, I can hardly wait to get them up and going... too bad the bathroom remodel is gonna go long, so they won't be in their room of choice until sometime later this year... luckily I have a nice large upstairs room that is not very acoustically friendly ;) so they will sit quietly there breaking in.
Current System:

Projector - Sony VPL-HW55ES
AVR - Onkyo TX-NR838
Fronts - Triton 2s
Center - SuperCenterXL
Surrounds - SuperSat 3s

Well, good news and bad news.

Good news is, the order shipped... bad news, it got lost in Seattle. Hope they find it soon, but they've started trying to track down where it was sent.

The Onkyo got back-ordered to 1/15/2015 as well... so I wont actually be able to set up my system for about three months or so, unless by some miracle it lands on the 2/4/15 or 2/5/15.

I'm a little bummed that I wont be able to put them in my house and listen to them, but while I wait anyone got any good classical music blue-rays or CDs they suggest?

Update:

Speakers were found along with my receiver! I am heading north to meet my dealer halfway shortly.

:D I can hardly wait to get them set up and breaking in. I got Led Zepplin, Fleetwood Mac, ACDC (Ok, not the super audiophile but give me my guilty pleasure) ;) I can hardly WAIT to get some good classical music to listen to!

Photos, review, and feedback to come. Also buddy of mine won a big chunk of dough in the super bowl, he had already decided to get his hands on a good AVR and was gonna go with 8040 Def Techs... but now he's decided to step up to Golden Ear.
