Glad to learn that Wayne is still around, since I had not seen any posts from him in a long time.

I would really enjoy adding a pair of References to my system, but I just cannot justify the cost. But, I am enjoying my Ones and Sevens in my new listening room in Raleigh. I have enjoyed working with different arrangements and combinations to explore the new room.

My new setup is not nearly as complex as the one in Johnson City. I now have a totally separate and simple 3.1 system for video. My music system is basically a 2.1 system, with a secondary and separate 4.0 system augmenting the sound. Frequently, I listen to music with just the stereo amp active, driving the Triton Ones. I still use augmented bass when listening at low volume levels (which is often).

Also, still playing golf almost every day. Many more good golf-weather days in Raleigh during the Fall/Winter/Spring than in Johnson City.

Must sign off now - time for watching a British mystery on Acorn with my bride.

Best,

Art

Good to hear from you, Art! All is well so far at this end of the universe.

I'm glad to see things are going well for you.

Charlie

PS. I also doubt the bass level control affects the crossover frequency. It's probably just sub amp gain.

Hi Charlie,

Good to hear from you as well.

My crossover and sub-level control questions were related to my use of augmented bass with my Triton Ones. I am sending a full-range stereo signal to a separate Sony 5.1 AV Receiver, from which I am taking a sub-level output signal to the LFE input on my Triton Ones. I wanted to be sure that I had the Sony's sub crossover set to the same frequency as the internal crossover frequency for the sub section of the Tritons. I also wanted to be sure that the Triton bass gain control did not affect the crossover frequency (I saw no reason why it should, but was asking just in case.....).

The use of the Sony allows me to vary the input level of the signal being fed to the Triton's LFE input.

Happy listening,

Art
