I picked up a Force Fiend 5 from my local dealer yesterday. This was after reading much about them and hearing the excellent demo unit in the showroom. When I got my unit home I noticed several problems.
1. A rattling / buzzing from the cone at 80 hz or so. This problem is evident at low volumes up.
2. The amp plate buzzes at medium to high volumes. This problem is worse on lower frequencies that excite the sub.
3. There might be some mechanical noise from the passive radiator. I'm not certain.

Is this is norm for these subs? Should I swap it out with another or just try another brand?
Thanks

LOL .. no, we don't make subwoofers that buzz and rattle, I think most people would take issue with that. Was it brand new in a sealed box?

Take it back to your dealer for them to verify the problem and to service or replace as circumstances dictate. Sorry for the trouble, whatever the reason.

Hey Mark,
My Forcefield 5 does not do any of that stuff, and I am rough with it, a bass head!!! So I have given it plenty of chances. It will and REGULARLY DOES make other things in the room rattle!!! It shakes the house!!!! IF that is what you are talking about, that is why you spent your hard earned bucks, for it to do that!!!!
Hope you get the problem figured out soon so you can enjoy your bass.
God Bless,
Wayne
God bless the child that's got his own.
