have the Marantz SR 5008 7.2

is one larger Forcefield 4 better than two Forcefield 3s?

(will be using a 3D array for center and 2 7000 for rear - 5.1/2 only)

thanks

A single larger sub will have the most feel-it-your-guts deep bass, but two Forcefield 3's will give better balance on movie soundtracks and pitch definition on music compared to one large sub. That being said, for a more evenly distributed through-the-room bass response four smaller Forcefield 3's would be ideal...

Two FF 4s or 5s would be the REAL bass ticket!!!!!

Blessings, Wayne the bass head

Depends a bit on room size, desired playback levels and sub location. With the soundbar, I'd probably prefer two FF3's in the front of the room to handle all frequencies below 120Hz.

thanks again,

I got one FF3 for now... it is actually a substantial size already ... may get a second FF3 depending on how the room looks in the end -- got to balance the look for the wife and sound for me.
